Not only did he go on to become Tucker’s best mate, the champion footballer faced racism from other pupils and suffered due to his family’s poor financial situation. Terry talks exclusively to us about his time at Grange Hill and what it was like to be there at the beginning of the series.

As promised previously, we have some great interviews coming up. Not only do we have a feature length interview with long term series writer Barry Purchese, we also have an exclusive interview with Terry Sue Patt, who played the legendary Benny Green. Keep your eyes peeled for these interviews over the next month.
As part of our launch weekend check out our Series 8 Cast Photo Card gallery here.
This contains over 20 of the original cast cards sent out by the BBC to viewers who wrote in about Grange Hill. Cast members were also given their own cards to send out in reply to fan letters.
This was the first series where cards were labelled with the programme, actor and character name and containing the BBC logo. Previous cards had been simple unlabelled photos.
GHG has collected together lots of these images to share on our site and these will be uploaded over the next few months. We are always on the look out for more images ; contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any to share.
We are thrilled to finally relaunch our site officially!
As well as lots of our classic features, we have a range of brand new exclusive interviews with :
Mrs McCluskey (Gwyneth Powell)
Miss Booth (Karen Ford)
Steven Banks (Tim Polley)
Bob Cosford (Titles Designer)
with many more lined up and being prepared to go on line in the near future.
There’s also a selection of new features and the beginnings of our Series Guide, including photo galleries and official cast card galleries.
Hopefully this new version of the website will be easier to navigate and allow us to share and update content quickly and more easily. We hope to become a definitive archive for the history of the early years of Grange Hill.
We’d love to hear what you think, so email us here at email@example.com and hope you will share this site with as many Grange Hill fans as possible!
