Beeb Magazine

Having seen the success of ‘LookIn!’ Magazine, billed as the Junior TV Times, the BBC were keen to develop their own junior magazine based on television and popular culture. In 1985 ‘Beeb’ magazine was born; containing comic strips based upon the BBC’s most popular ‘youth’ shows ; The Tripods, Bananaman, The Family Ness, Automan, One By One and of course Grange Hill. It also contained interviews and features with pop and tv stars. Sadly Beeb only lasted for 20 issues before publication ceased, but its Grange Hill content continued throughout with a three page comic strip each week and various interviews and features.

In our gallery below is some of the Grange Hill content from Beeb magazine. All material is (c) BBC Enterprises / Phil Redmond Ltd.
